WhatsApp Hacked: Affected Millions Of iPhone and Android Users

According to report earlier, WhatsApp has been hacked by attackers and have installed spyware on an unknown number of people’s smartphones. This social network has about 1.5 billion users.

The hacker were able to insert malicious software on phones by calling the target using the app, which is used by 1.5 billion people around the world.

According to source, they reported that the spyware used by the hacker was developed by a shadowy-Israel-based firm called NSO Group, which has been accused of helping governments from the Middle East to Mexico snoop on activists and journalists.

 

 

A notice issued on facebook said that the problem impacted Android, iPhones and Windows phones. Though a security update was released on Monday to resolve the issue and users are recommended to update as soon as possible. regardless of whether they have had any suspicious call activity.

If you haven’t updated you WhatsApp in a long time, it’s time to take precaution and update it.
