Mozilla Set To Replace Firefox With Fenix Browser On Android

Mozilla seems to end the support for Firefox for Android as they are working on a new Browser called Fenix. The browser is available as a development build. Firefox has not receive much attention. This could be as the result of the Fenix browser which is currently under development.

According to source, they states that a support document published by Mozilla outlines the company’s plans for replacing Firefox (referred to as ‘Fennec’ in the document) with Fenix. Firefox 67 and 68 for Android will be released as previously planned (on May 14th and July 9th, respectively), but afterwards, the browser will only receive bug fixes and security patches.

Probably sometime in 2020, next year Firefox will reach End-Life-Status. As for now the document did not mention anything when Mozilla plans to release Fenix. Therefore, Support ends when Fenix is ready and users of the legacy version of Firefox for Android can be migrated to the new mobile browser.
