Microsoft To End Support For Windows 7 On January 2020 – See Reasons

0

Windows 10 has now overtaken Windows 7 in Market share as was reviewed by NetMarketShare. This is due to Microsoft decision to drop extend support for its older operating system in January 2020.

Windows 10 is now officially the most popular, Though Windows XP is still more popular than any version of windows 8 but back in 2014 Microsoft end supports for the Windows XP. Now it has been extended to Windows 7. In years to come many will still be using Windows 7 if history is an indicator.

For Windows 7 Users, You need to upgrade to Windows 10 by 14th January 2020 to avoid losing support for your OS. Reaching the end of the support doesn’t mean the Operating system will shutdown but rather it will be vulnerable to new security bugs as it will not receive any security updates.

Important Notice!!!

IMPORTANTLY, IF YOU ARE STILL USING WINDOWS 7 WHEN THE SOFTWARE’S SUPPORT ENDS IN 2020, YOU WILL NO LONGER RECEIVE SECURITY UPDATES AND WILL SUBSEQUENTLY BE MORE VULNERABLE TO MALICIOUS SOFTWARE.

In addition, you may encounter problems updating drivers for your hardware, as these may no longer be available for the operating system. Therefore you are Recommended to Upgrade to Latest version of windows before the stated date.

Since after the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft has changed its Policy from Fixed Lifecycle Policy to Modern Lifecycle Policy which covers all products and services that are supported continuously.
